According to the Pak Defense Minister, supporting America in the Afghan war was a historical mistake. America used Pakistan for its own purposes and left it. This decision caused irreparable damage to the country in the form of terrorism and economic devastation.
Islamabad: Pak Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan’s decision to support America in the Afghanistan war was a big historical mistake. He said in Parliament that America, after using Pakistan for its own purposes, threw it away without giving it as much importance as toilet paper. The alliance with the US after 1999, especially after the September 11 attacks of 2001, caused irreparable losses to Pakistan. The country is facing the impact of this decision even after decades. Pakistan did not participate in the Afghan war because of any religious duty. Rather, Pakistanis were forced to fight in the name of jihad for America’s geopolitical interests.
To justify these wars, changes were also made in the education system of Pakistan. He told that those ideological changes are still present in the country. Involvement in wars that were not ours led to violence, terrorism and economic devastation in Pakistan. Khawaja Asif also admitted that the social impact caused by this can never be compensated.
