In Bhojpur district, a woman, angry over her son’s love marriage, sold her newborn grandson. When the daughter-in-law’s son was born, she sold him to a doctor in Rohtas district for Rs 50,000 with the help of a nearby woman.
This incident happened in Agiaon of Garhani area of Bhojpur district. The child was sold in the primary health center here on December 7.
The child sold is the son of the woman’s son Chittaranjan. Chittaranjan is a resident of Narayanpura village. Chittaranjan’s wife Khushboo Kumari has lodged a report of this incident at Gadhani police station on 16 December. The police have arrested Chittaranjan’s mother Krinta Devi and her associate three women. 49 thousand rupees have been recovered from him.
Police searching for doctor
Apart from Krinta Devi, wife of Pankaj Rawani, resident of Nayanpur village, police have also arrested Kavita Sharma, resident of the same village, Chandni Sharma, resident of Arrah and Preeti Kumari of Rohtas district. The doctor who bought the child is absconding. The four arrested women have confessed to their crime, although the child has not been found yet. Police is searching for the doctor.
Accused Chandni Sharma told the police that Kavita Sharma is her relative. Through the same, a deal for the child was made with Dr. Dilip alias Harishankar Pandit, a resident of Hunkadih village, who runs a clinic in Dinara, Rohtas, and Preeti Kumari, who worked with him. The child was sold to Dr. Dilip for Rs 50 thousand.
Mother-in-law imprisoned daughter-in-law in the house
Krinta Devi had imprisoned Khushboo Kumari in the house after selling her grandson. She managed to escape from home after five days and reached her relative’s house in Arrah. After this she reached the police. According to the FIR lodged by Khushboo Kumari, when she was about to deliver, Krinta Devi took her to Agiaon hospital on 6 December. His son was born on 7th December. After this she and her mother-in-law came home. Meanwhile, Kavita Devi along with two other women and a man took her child. Regarding the child, Krinta Devi told him that she has given him to Chandni Sharma. After this Khushboo Kumari was imprisoned in the house.
According to police officer Kamaljeet, during interrogation of the accused, it has been revealed that Chittaranjan and his wife Khushboo Kumari are cousins. Both of them had a love marriage. Chittaranjan’s mother Krinta Devi was angry with this. He conspired to sell his grandson to separate his son and daughter-in-law Chittaranjan and Khushboo. Kavita Sharma and Chandni Sharma helped him in this act. Efforts are being made to nab the accused doctor.
