Such is the inspiring story of the IPS officer of Rajasthan Ishwar Gurjar. The beginning of God was normal and he failed in Class 10th and suffered a huge shock. But instead of giving up, he inspired himself and then succeeded in UPSC CSE.

Who is God Gurjar? Father used to run grocery shop

Ishwar Lal Gurjar was born in a middle class family in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. His father Suvalal Gurjar used to run a grocery store and mother Sukhi Devi is a housewife. Ishwar, who is always average in studies, did not pass the board examination of his class 10. He was very disappointed with this failure and also thought of quitting studies many times. But his father encouraged him to maintain courage and hope. Suvalal Gurjar said, don’t lose courage and hope. These words of father became a turning point in the life of Ishwar Lal Gurjar.

Ishwar Lal Gurjar returns to studies

Ishwar kept his father’s words in the heart and passed the 10th board examination in 2012 with 54% marks. He then scored 68% marks in the 12th board. God became a government school teacher in 2019 after completing a Bachelor degree from MDS University.

Ishwar Lal Gurjar’s way of UPSC: 3 consecutive successes after 3 failures

The ambition of God was not limited to becoming a teacher just. He started preparing for UPSC CSE. UPSC Prelims did not pass in the first attempt in 2019. Arrived in the interview in 2020, but did not make a place in the final list. Another attempt in 2021 failed. Despite these failures, God did not give up. After continuous hard work and focus, UPSC CSE passed, Air 644, IRS cadre was found in the fourth attempt in 2022. Then in 2023, he won the desire to become IPS by achieving Air 555. God still did not stop, he passed UPSC for the third time in 2024 and achieved Air 483.

IPS Ishwar Gurjar’s inspiring message

After the results of UPSC CSE 2024, God wrote on Instagram- “The word is the same, the year and time have changed. The result of UPSC CSE 2024 has come. AIR 483. After the successes of IRS and IPS, the pride and satisfaction of becoming IPS is now precious.

As of September 2025, IPS Ishwar Gurjar is undergoing training at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA). His story proves that any unsuccessful start with hard work, patience and dedication can turn into success.
