The controversial tweet of Congress Kerala on “Bidi and Bihar” has caused political earthquake. Deputy Chief Minister Emperor Chaudhary launched a scathing attack on the Congress by insulting Bihar and linking the statement against PM Modi’s mother.
The Congress party has once again come under controversy. This time a disputed social media post of Congress Kerala regarding Bihar has created a political storm. “Beedi and Bihar begins with B, now it cannot be considered a sin” This sarcasm has reacted sharply by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Emperor Chaudhary and accused of exposing the “real character” of the Congress.
The Kerala unit of the Congress made a tweet about the change in GST rates that said, “Bidis and Bihar Starts With B. Cannot be Considered A Sin Anymore” (begins with Bidi and Bihar B, it can no longer be considered a sin). A tax slab table was also shared with this tweet, showing that the current 28% GST on bidi is proposed to reduce GST to 18%, while GST on cigarette and tobacco was said to increase GST to 40%.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has raised strong objections, calling this post a direct insult to Bihar. In his counter-tweet, he wrote, “First our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s revered mother insulting and now insulting the whole Bihar, this is the real character of the Congress, which is repeatedly exposed to the country.” In this statement of Emperor Chaudhary, an attempt has been made to look into two separate incidents. The first incident is of alleged insult to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother and second is the latest controversy in which Congress Kerala has made a disputed remarks mentioning Bihar.
