UPKL Season 2 Updates: Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 entered a decisive do-or-die phase on Day 12, with teams fighting for crucial points as the league edges closer to its business end.
Sangam Challengers produced a composed and resilient performance to defeat Kanpur Warriors 37-32, registering their third consecutive win and making a sharp climb from seventh position to second place on the league table.
Kanpur began aggressively and pushed Sangam close to an all-out early in the contest. However, a crucial super tackle from Sangam halted Kanpur’s momentum, after which Sangam turned the tide by inflicting an all-out. Maintaining pressure through disciplined defence and controlled raiding, Sangam extended their advantage before halftime.
The second half saw Sangam strike early again with another all-out, opening up a significant cushion. Kanpur attempted a comeback with two back-to-back super tackles, reducing the gap to ten points, but Sangam slowed the tempo intelligently and shut down any sustained momentum. Captain Mayank Malik led from the front with an outstanding defensive display, finishing with eight tackle points, as Sangam closed out a crucial win.
Late surge lifts Yamuna Yoddhas past Ganga Kings of Mirzapur
Yamuna Yoddhas held their nerve in the closing stages to defeat Ganga Kings of Mirzapur 49-44 in a match defined by momentum swings and late drama. Ganga responded strongly to an early Yamuna super raid, tightening their defence and all-outing Yamuna to take a five-point lead. Yamuna fought back steadily, with Lakshay’s super raid reducing the margin before Yamuna forced an all-out to level the scores.

What followed was an intense end-to-end battle, with both teams trading raids and tackles. In the final minute, Yamuna raised their intensity once more and inflicted a decisive all-out, sealing a hard-fought victory and underlining their composure in high-pressure situations.
Lucknow Lions overpower Aligarh Tigers with early all-out blitz
Lucknow Lions asserted their dominance early to defeat Aligarh Tigers 52-35, delivering a commanding performance built on early control and squad depth.
Within the opening five minutes, Lucknow applied sustained pressure and forced an all-out, setting the tone for the contest. The Lions rotated their lineup confidently, giving opportunities to younger players, with Anurag Pandya producing a super raid that played a key role in destabilising Aligarh’s defence and leading to another all-out.
Aligarh attempted to regroup in the second half, but the damage done in the opening phase proved too significant. Lucknow maintained control through structured raiding and disciplined defence, closing out a comprehensive win with authority.
Kashi Kings return to winning ways with dominant second-half display
Kashi Kings bounced back in emphatic fashion, defeating Purvanchal Panthers 52-32 with a powerful second-half performance. The first half remained competitive, with both teams matching each other raid for raid and tackle for tackle. However, the match turned decisively after the break when Kashi tightened their defence and forced an all-out, triggering a surge in confidence.
From there, Kashi maintained relentless pressure, inflicting multiple all-outs and denying Purvanchal any opportunity to recover. The Kings controlled the tempo through disciplined defence and efficient raiding to close out a convincing win and reassert themselves in the standings.
With Day 12 concluded, the race for the top two spots has intensified sharply, with teams separated by narrow margins and only three to four matches remaining for each side. As UPKL Season 2 moves deeper into this do-or-die phase, every result is now critical, and the fight for a place at the top of the table promises even more drama in the days ahead.
