UPKL Season 2: Bids of 12 teams completed, Vinay Tewatia becomes the most expensive player

The player auction of Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 was completed in Noida. 12 teams bid ₹1.70 crore. Aligarh Tigers bought Vinay Tewatia for ₹5.90 lakh. The new season will start from December 25 in Noida.

Noida. Uttar Pradesh has again created a new history in the field of Kabaddi. The player auction of Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 was concluded in Noida, in which 12 teams made strong bids and many new players got a golden opportunity. This time, a total bid of ₹1.70 crore was received in the league, while 500 players caught the attention of the teams with their skills. The slogan of this season is “Apna Bharat, Apna Khel – Khel Raha Hai Mera Pradesh.”

Ghazab Ghaziabad becomes 12th franchise, complete team lineup of season 2 decided

This time a new team has entered UPKL, ‘Ghazab Ghaziabad’, which has added new energy to the competition. With this, now a total of 12 franchises are included in the league, Aligarh Tigers, Kanpur Warriors, Purvanchal Panthers, Lucknow Lions, Noida Ninjas, Sangam Challengers, Braj Stars, Ganga Kings of Mirzapur, Kashi Kings, Yamuna Yoddha, Awadh Ramdoots and Ghazab Ghaziabad.

Vinay Tewatia became the most expensive player

Vinay Tewatia caught everyone’s attention with the highest bid in the auction. He was bought by Aligarh Tigers for ₹5.90 lakh. He was followed by Nitin Panwar (Ganga Kings of Mirzapur) for ₹4.45 lakh and Ashu Singh (Noida Ninjas) for ₹4.35 lakh. Kanpur Warriors bought Shubham Kumar for ₹3.20 lakh, while Awadh Ramdoots added Abhimanyu Raghuvanshi for ₹2.95 lakh.

Lucknow Lions retained champion squad

Last season’s winning team Lucknow Lions retained its key players Arjun Deshwal, Vivek Chaudhary, Arpit Saroha and Mohd. Aman has been retained. Retaining its experience and balance, the team has once again set its sights on the title.

There will be 71 exciting matches in the new season

UPKL Season 2 will start from 25th December 2025 in Noida. A total of 71 matches will be played, which will be telecast live on Zee Sports and ZEE5. This time to make the league grander, former IAS Avnish Kumar Awasthi, advisor to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, announced the new broadcast partner.
