Today is a historic day for the sports lovers of Aligarh. The name of Aligarh Tigers will now be heard in Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL), which has taken the identity of Kabaddi to a new level. The franchise is owned by city healthcare leader Sumit Saraf, who is also the managing director of Shekhar Saraf Memorial Hospital.
Growing scope of Kabaddi in UP
This is the second new franchise in the league after the entry of Kanpur Warriors. UPKL is professionally designed and operated by SJ Uplift Kabaddi, which has grown from a state level initiative to now gaining national attention. With the addition of Aligarh Tigers, the aim of the league has become stronger – to take Kabaddi to every corner of the state and to create a professional platform for local athletes.
