Mahindra XUV 7XO

India’s best-selling mid-size 7-seater SUV, the Mahindra XUV700, will be updated with several new features, and its nameplate will be changed to XUV 7XO. This SUV is set to launch on January 5, 2026, and will borrow many features from its electric sibling, the Mahindra XEV9s.

The biggest highlights may include a refreshed grille, redesigned bumpers, and sleek LED projector headlamps. The interior will feature a panoramic triple-screen infotainment setup borrowed from the XEV9s, along with a digital driver’s display, a dedicated passenger-side screen, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, seven airbags, and ventilated front and rear seats with connected features.

It will continue to be powered by the 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel engines, with both manual and automatic transmission options. An optional AWD system is also expected. Prices are anticipated to range from 15 lakh to 25 lakh (ex-showroom), and Mahindra has already started accepting pre-bookings for 21,000 rupees.

New Renault Duster

The biggest launch will be the comeback of the OG compact SUV, the Renault Duster. This highly anticipated Creta rival is set to launch on January 26, 2026, coinciding with India’s Republic Day.

This mid-size SUV will feature an updated design language based on the CMF-B platform and 4.3 metres long. It will come with a muscular body, LED projector headlamps, a new front grille, sharp styling elements, and a rugged exterior.

Inside, it will feature a premium dashboard layout, leather upholstery, a large infotainment system, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and improved cabin space.

Internationally, it is offered with 1.0L turbo petrol, 1.2L hybrid petrol, and 1.6L hybrid petrol engines. For India, Renault is expected to utilise the first two powertrain options to keep its pricing competitive and affordable.

Nissan Tekton SUV

The Nissan Tekton will be based on the Renault Duster and built on the same CMF-B platform, sharing its powertrain but offering a completely different exterior and interior design.

Nissan plans to launch both a Triber-based model and this Duster-based SUV by early 2026. The Tekton is expected to launch in February 2026. Previously, Nissan sold the Terrano SUV, which was also based on the Renault Duster.

The Tekton will follow Nissan’s global design DNA, inspired by the Nissan Patrol, and may feature vertical LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, a flat sculpted bonnet, a new premium interior with a large touchscreen, Level 2 ADAS, and six airbags.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift

Skoda will launch the updated Kushaq in early 2026. The Kushaq is one of the best-engineered SUVs in the Indian market. It offers excellent handling, drivability, safety, and performance. The facelift is expected to feature updated bumpers, a new grille, new alloys, revised LED headlamps, and refreshed taillights.

Inside, it may get a redesigned dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, a new touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and additional rear ventilated seats.

It will continue with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI engines, but is likely to feature a new 8-speed automatic transmission replacing the 6-speed torque converter. The 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG options will remain.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Volkswagen’s Taigun is also set to receive an update by early 2026. It is expected to get a sharper exterior design, aligning with Volkswagen’s global styling. The front grille is expected to be narrower, and it may feature new twin projector headlamps. The Alloy wheels will also be new and more sporty.

It will likely carry the same powertrains as the existing Taigun SUVs. The interior may feature a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, cruise control, lane assist, premium upholstery, and multi-colour ambient lighting. It will launch shortly after the Kushaq facelift. Both the Kushaq and the Taigun Facelift will carry a more premium price tag because of their added features and design.

New Gen Kia Seltos

Kia has already unveiled the new-gen Seltos, and it will launch on January 2, 2026. The next-generation Seltos will feature a more premium design and cabin experience. Built on the K3 platform, it offers a bolder stance and wider design.

The biggest highlight is its interior, which features a panoramic infotainment display, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, front ventilated seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a new leather-wrapped D-cut steering wheel.

It will continue to use the same 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol, and 1.5L CRDi diesel engines. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, CVT, iMT, and a 7-speed DCT. Pricing will be revealed at launch, but it is expected to start at around 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
