On the Vijayadashami festival at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath traditionally worshiped Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and Shrinathji. CM Yogi gave up the head at the samadhi sites and wished the people’s happiness and prosperity.
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Gorakshpithadhishwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a special worship of Shivavatar Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath ji with traditional customs at Gorakhnath Temple. In the special dress of Gorakshapeethadheeshwar, CM Yogi, while discharging the tradition, worshiped Shrinath ji in the morning and prayed to Lokmangal.
Vijayadashami Pujan started with Shaktipeeth
The worship began with Shaktipeeth at Gorakhnath temple, where Adishakti was being practiced from the Pratipada of Sharadiya Navratri. After the prayer of altar worship and public welfare, CM Yogi reached the sanctum sanctorum amidst Vedic chanting.

Special worship of Mahayogi Gorakhnath and Shrinath ji
In the presence of Acharyas and Vedpathi students of Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, the Chief Minister entered the sanctum sanctorum and worshiped Mahayogi Gorakhnath and Srinath ji by law. After this, he performed Aarti and worshiped all the prestigious deities in the temple.
Favine head at samadhi sites, blessings taken
After the puja-eminence, Gorakshapeethadheeshwar gave the head at the tomb of other saints including his Gurudev Brahmalin Mahant Avidyanath. Worshiped there and received blessings.
Hawthi and Damru’s echoing echoed temple complex
During this time, traditional instruments like hawthorn, conch, drums, bells and damru were heard in the entire temple premises. The atmosphere was stunned by the wave of devotion and reverence. At the end of the special worship-enemy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wished the people of the state for a happy, peaceful and prosperous life.
