The weather pattern in Uttar Pradesh continues to be unpredictable, with humid conditions prevailing in most of the districts in the state.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for various districts, expecting thundershowers, lightning, and heavy rainfall in the coming days.
Heavy rainfall has already been witnessed in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh over the last 24 hours, along with wind and lightning in many regions and has lowered the temperatures in several places.
IMD Issues Rain Alert
Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds across different regions of UP in the coming days.
Eastern UP: As per the IMD, rain may be seen in eastern UP between August 3 and August 7 and heavy rainfall in many districts between August 3 and 6. Thunderstorms with rain can be expected from August 2 to 8.
Western UP: In Western UP, light to moderate rain may occur on August 2 and 3. According to IMD, some districts may witness heavy rainfall from August 4 to August 7 and isolated heavy downpour between August 3 and August 6.
Lightning, Strong Winds likely
The IMD also predicted possible lightning strikes along with strong winds in both Eastern and Western UP for the coming few days.
An alert for thunderstorms has been issued for some districts in the state, and the general public should avoid the shelters of derelict buildings, take cover, not stand near water and follow the advisories of the local administration in case of heavy rainfall with lightning and gusty winds.
