Yogi government has made a provision of about Rs 3,500 Cr to strengthen health services in the supplementary budget. Special attention has been given to hospitals, rural health centers and treatment of the poor under Ayushman Bharat and National Rural Health Mission.

Yogi government has made huge financial provision for the medical sector in the supplementary budget to further strengthen the health services in the state and to give a new direction to the medical infrastructure. By making a provision of approximately Rs 3,500 crore, the government has made it clear that providing better, accessible and quality health services to the general public is its priority.

Special emphasis on expansion of medical infrastructure and hospitals

Adequate funds have been provided in the supplementary budget for the development of medical infrastructure, expansion of hospitals, availability of modern medical equipment and improvement in the quality of health services. This budget will not only give impetus to the existing health schemes, but will also be helpful in strengthening the health system of the state in the long run.

Provision of additional Rs 300 crore for Ayushman Bharat scheme

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, special attention is being paid to the effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. In this sequence, an additional provision of Rs 300 crore has been made in the supplementary budget for payment of pending and future medical claims of the hospitals empaneled under this scheme. This will ensure timely payment to empaneled hospitals, both private and government, and patients will be able to get treatment without any interruption.

Additional provision of Rs 2,000 crore for National Rural Health Mission

An additional amount of Rs 2,000 crore has been provisioned in the supplementary budget for better implementation of the schemes run under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). With this fund, the services of primary health centres, community health centers and district hospitals in rural areas will be further strengthened.

Maternal-child health and vaccination will be strengthened in rural areas

This additional budget will also strengthen maternal and child health services, vaccination programmes, nutrition schemes, prevention of infectious diseases and facilities for health workers. This will improve both access and quality of health services in rural areas.

Poor and needy families will get uninterrupted free treatment

The largest financial provision has been made for payment of pending and future medical claims received by hospitals empaneled under Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission. The additional requirement of Rs 1,200 crore under this item has been included in the supplementary budget.

This step will make the Ayushman Bharat scheme more effective and will ensure that poor and needy families continue to get the facility of free treatment without any hindrance. Besides, the financial condition of hospitals will also be strengthened, which will further improve the quality of health services.
