Ghazipur News: The video of a dead rat being found in a plate of curd in Samrat Dhaba located on Varanasi-Gorakhpur Highway went viral. After serious flaws were revealed in FSDA’s investigation, the dhaba was immediately sealed.
Ghazipur. It is common to stop at a dhaba while traveling on the highway, but when there is not food in the plate but dirt and carelessness, then the trust is broken. A case that came to light in Ghazipur has not only shocked the customers but has also raised serious questions on the food safety system.
Samrat Dhaba, located on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur Highway, came into limelight when some people passing through Muhammadabad area ate here. There was chaos on the spot after seeing a dead rat in the plate of curd ordered with the meal.
Customers protest, truth caught on camera
After the shocking scene, customers questioned the dhaba staff and recorded a video of the entire incident. Within no time this video went viral on social media, after which resentment and anger started increasing among the people. As soon as the video surfaced on social media, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) swung into action. The team reached the dhaba without any delay and started investigation, so that the truth could be brought out.

Investigation exposed, many flaws exposed
During FSDA’s investigation, gross lack of cleanliness and disregard for food safety standards were found in the dhaba. The arrangements from kitchen to storage were found in very poor condition, which was a direct threat to the health of the people. In view of serious irregularities, FSDA seized Samrat Dhaba with immediate effect. Officials made it clear that the dhaba will not be reopened until necessary improvements are made.

FSDA’s strict message, questions raised on highway dhabas
FSDA Commissioner Ramesh Chandra Pandey said that there will be no compromise on food security. Public health is paramount and strict action will continue against those violating the rules. If necessary, the license of the dhaba can also be cancelled. After this incident, the demand for regular checking of dhabas and hotels operating along the highway has intensified. Local people say that there should be strict inspection from time to time, so that the health of the passengers is not compromised and recurrence of such incidents can be prevented.
