If your dream is to become a constable in UP Police, then this is the right opportunity. UPPRPB has released recruitment for 32,000+ posts in 2026. Applications are open now and you can apply till 30 January 2026. But remember, before applying you will have to complete One-Time Registration (OTR) of UPPRPB. Applications will not be accepted without OTR.

To become a UP Police Constable, not only studies but physical fitness is also very important. The recruitment process includes written examination, physical test and medical examination. Both male and female candidates can participate in this. First of all, the physical standards of the candidates like height, weight and chest will be checked. This is followed by written examination and fitness test like running.

Minimum limits of height and chest have been fixed for male candidates. General and OBC candidates – Height 168 cm, Chest 79 cm (without expansion) and 84 cm (with expansion). SC Candidates – Height 160 cm, Chest 77 cm (without expansion) and 82 cm (with expansion). Only if the candidates fulfill these criteria, they will get a chance to appear in the further written examination and physical test.

If we talk about height and weight for female candidates, then General and OBC – Height 153 cm. SC Candidates – Height 147 cm and weight minimum 40 kg. There is no chest standard for female candidates, but the focus is on fitness and running. Fulfillment of these criteria is the condition of eligibility for the written examination.

After passing the written examination, male candidates will have to appear in the physical test. In this test they have to complete a 4.8 kilometer race within 25 minutes. Whereas the physical test is slightly different for female candidates. They have to complete the 2.4 kilometer race within 14 minutes. The candidates who complete the race within the time limit are included in the merit list and medical test.
