According to NCRB data, the number of communal and religious riots in UP has been zero in 2023. This never happened in UP before Yogi. Not only this, crime in UP is one -fourth less than the whole country. The total crime rate in the country’s largest state was 25% lower than the national average, which was 335.3 against 448.3. NCRB figures prove that after 2017, UP has now become a stronghold of peace and social harmony.

The policy of zero tolerance on communal riots became effective

The NCRB report stated the number of communal riots in UP zero, which is a lively example of the zero tolerance policy in the state since 2017. On the other hand, when we talk about five years between 2012-2017, these figures are frightening. According to the data, there were 815 riots, in which 192 people died, while in 2007-2011, there were 121 deaths in 616 incidents. In contrast, there was no major riot in UP after 2017. There were two violent clashes in Bareilly and Bahraich, but the Yogi government controlled the situation by restoring peace within 24 hours. Rapid action on the Bareilly incident has further strengthened law and order.

Strict law and order rein in crimes

Due to the strict policies of CM Yogi, crime has been controlled in the state. According to NCRB data, UP has recorded a significant decrease from national average in various crime categories. In Balwa cases, India had 3,160 cases (crime rate 1.3) against 39,260 cases (crime rate 2.8), which is less than half of the national average and UP is ranked 20th in the country. At the same time, there were 615 incidents of kidnapping for ransom in the country, in comparison, in UP, with only 16 incidents in UP, it is 36th in the country. In cases of robbery (IPC 395), 73 cases were registered in UP against 3,792 (crime rate 0.3) in India, which brings it into the category of ‘Near Zero’ crime rate. Despite a large population, this shortage is the result of strict policies and quick action of the Yogi government.

Yogi government is also inspired for other states

The transparent governance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, strict legal action has managed to curb crimes. The NCRB report is the result of the Yogi government’s zero tolerance policy.
