CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the development works and law and order during his visit to Varanasi. Instructions were given for better arrangements in Kashi Vishwanath temple, speeding up ghat construction, monitoring of Amrit-2 scheme works and strictness on illegal activities.

Varanasi. CM Yogi Adityanath conducted a detailed review of development works, construction projects and law and order at the Circuit House auditorium on Sunday, the first day of his two-day visit to Varanasi. He gave strict instructions to the officials that there should be no misbehavior by the police with the visitors at Kashi Vishwanath Temple. There should not be any complaint of disorder in the temple premises. Instructions were also given to the police and temple administration to improve the arrangements.

Acceleration in the construction work of Kashi Vishwanath corridor and ghats

The Chief Minister asked to ensure easy access of devotees to the shops built in Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and to fix fair prices of the goods. He clarified that religious places are centers of faith and not a means of earning money. The Chief Minister directed to speed up the construction work of Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat by increasing manpower. Asked to ensure preservation of historical heritage at all costs during construction around ghats and temples. Instructions were given to speed up the work at the ropeway station being built in Godowlia with better arrangements for boarding and deboarding of passengers.

Emphasis on Amrit-2 scheme, sewerage and drinking water system

The Chief Minister gave instructions to get the sewerage and water supply works done in a systematic manner under the Amrit-2 scheme. There should be intensive monitoring of works and negligence will not be accepted under any circumstances. Repair of damaged roads should be done on priority. Ropeway fare should be kept reasonable for the common people. Emphasis was laid on greater use of machines for city cleanliness.

Also instructions were given to create organized vending zone, Kanha Upvan and street dog centre. Asked to complete Dalmandi road widening work soon by giving appropriate compensation. Underground cabling of electrical wires should be as per the standards. Instructions were given to ensure that there is no drinking water crisis during the summer season.

Law and order: No new tradition allowed, strictness on illegal activities

The Chief Minister said that religious events should be held only in the premises of religious places. No new tradition will be allowed to be started. There should be a ban on loud silencers and pressure horns. There should be no encroachment and unorganized parking on the roads. Instructions were given to make school children aware of traffic rules. Action should be taken against those involved in illegal trade of codeine cough syrup. The sale and smuggling of illegal and poisonous liquor should be closely monitored.

Revenue litigation, public hearings and business meetings

The Chief Minister asked to ensure timely and quality disposal of pending revenue issues. Undisputed matters should be resolved quickly. Officials should hold regular public hearings and resolve complaints on merit basis. Quick resolution of problems should be ensured by holding regular meetings of business, industry and banks at the district and commissionerate level.

Gym inspection and female trainer mandatory

The Chief Minister asked to get all the gyms checked and ensure the availability of women trainers. Instructions were also given to take strict action against persons involved in illegal activities and guilty police personnel. In view of Holi and other upcoming festivals, asked to maintain tight system and organize regular meetings on road safety.

Officials gave presentation

Divisional Commissioner S. Rajalingam, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar and Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal gave presentations on development projects, law and order, cyber crime and traffic system. It was told that 74 projects worth about Rs 17 thousand crore are underway. ADG Zone Piyush Mordia gave information about the preparations for the upcoming Police Sub Inspector examination. Public representatives and senior officials of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
