Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major achievement in the field of solar energy in the financial year 2025-26. A record 3,47,729 rooftop solar plants were installed in the state. With this, the total installed solar capacity of the state has reached 1161.756 MW, which shows the rapid progress towards green energy.
Month by Month Solar Installation Trend (Monthly Solar Installation Data UP)
If we look at the figures for the entire year, April 2025 started with 15,836 installations. After this, 18,509 plants were installed in May and 18,494 plants were installed in June. There was a big jump from July, where there were 29,850 installations and the capacity reached more than 100 MW. This pace continued in August and September also. There was a slight decline in October, but there was a sharp rise again in November (30,894) and December (31,164).
Record increase in the last quarter (Solar Boom Jan–March 2026)
Solar installations set a new record in the last three months of the year.
- January 2026: 33,314 plants
- February 2026: 35,804 plants
- March 2026: 52,729 plants (highest figure of the year)
In the month of March alone, 173.84 MW capacity was added, which is the largest increase so far in a single month.

According to UPNEDA Director Inderjit Singh, this growth in the last quarter is the result of the government’s effective policies, subsidy schemes and strong implementation. This has not only increased power production, but consumers are also getting cheap and clean energy.
