Up weather alert: In Lucknow, after the continuous rains and black clouds in Lucknow, an order has been issued to keep all schools from class 1 to 12 on August 14. The DM office has directed to implement it immediately. According to the Meteorological Department’s warning, heavy rains and lightning are expected in Lucknow and surrounding districts in the next 48 hours.

Why the school in Lucknow was closed?

Lucknow DM Visakh ji made it clear that this decision was taken to protect the children in view of the continuous rains and bad weather. The order to close all government, non-government and private recognized schools in the city and rural areas has been implemented for August 14. The DM has sent a copy of the order to the concerned authorities and directed to strictly follow.

Alert of heavy rains in 23 districts of UP-Who are affected?

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in 23 districts of UP. Saharanpur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli in western UP have an orange alert of very heavy rain with thunderstorms. At the same time, yellow alert is applicable in many districts including Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Bareilly, Lucknow, Kanpur and Jhansi. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains in some districts of eastern UP.

The process of rain continues in Lucknow since Wednesday night. Waterlogging and road jams have been created in many areas. It has become difficult for young children to reach school. According to meteorologists, rains will continue with thunderstorms in most parts of western UP in the next 48 hours. There is a possibility of very heavy rains in some places. The maximum temperature may be reduced by 2–4 degrees Celsius. During this time it is necessary to keep caution and alert.
