Yogi Adityanath AI city Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described PM Modi’s MANAV vision as historic at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. UP is moving towards AI revolution through the country’s first AI city in Lucknow and AI-supported university in Unnao.
In the fast-paced world of technology, the question is not just about ‘what is possible’, but also ‘what is right’. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the “MANAV” vision of human-centric, responsible and transparent AI at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, it was a clear message that India is not only preparing to adopt AI but also to give direction to it.
Inspired by this platform, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is taking concrete steps to convert this vision into ground reality. In his words, AI is not just a tool for technological progress but a medium for ethical, inclusive and accountable innovation.

AI-enabled multidisciplinary university in Unnao
The state government has launched the country’s first AI-supported multidisciplinary university in Unnao. It aims to develop future-ready human resources, students who can become creators and regulators of technology and not just consumers of it. Work is underway on a plan to equip more than one million youth with cutting-edge technical skills through the ‘AI Pragya’ initiative. Skill development experts believe that only large-scale skilling can link the AI revolution to job creation.
AI extends from agriculture to governance
The Chief Minister underlined that AI based solutions are helping in increasing the productivity of more than one million farming families. Tools like crop forecasting, soil analysis and weather-based advisories are helping farmers make better decisions. Along with this, AI based transparency is also being strengthened in revenue management, internal security and smart governance. Administrative sources say that the data-based decision system is making the processes faster, accountable and citizen-centric.
The goal of secure, sovereign and scalable AI
In the context of this summit organized at Bharat Mandapam, the Chief Minister made it clear that the aim of Uttar Pradesh is not just technological advancement, but to develop such an AI system which works in the interest of humanity. The MANAV vision presented by the Prime Minister emphasizes that the development of AI should be democratic, inclusive and ethical, so that the technology becomes not a fear but an opportunity. The Uttar Pradesh government claims that it will play a strategic role in building a secure, sovereign and scalable AI infrastructure in line with this vision.
Why is this initiative important?
- AI-based policy experiments in India’s most populous state
- Target of youth skilling on a large scale
- Data-driven reforms in agriculture and governance
- Possibilities of new model of public-private cooperation
In this new race of technology, Uttar Pradesh has indicated that it wants to be an active participant and not just a spectator. If the announced projects are completed in a timely and transparent manner, this initiative could give the state a leading role in the AI ecosystem.
