UP Holiday Calendar 2026: Know when schools, banks and offices will remain closed in the new year

UP School Holidays List 2026: UP government has released the new holiday calendar for 2026. This time there will be 24 government and 31 restricted holidays. Due to connection with many festival weekends, children and employees will get the benefit of continuous holidays. See full list

Uttar Pradesh Holidays List 2026: UP government has released the new government holidays calendar for 2026. A total of 24 public holidays and 31 restricted holidays have been included in the new calendar. The special thing is that this time there has been no change in the number of holidays, but there are many festivals due to which children and employees will get the benefit of continuous holidays. This will give students a good break between studies and also a chance to hang out with their family.

Uttar Pradesh Holidays Number and New Update in 2026

The number of holidays in the new calendar has been kept the same as last year. However, the dates of some festivals have been changed. According to the order issued by Principal Secretary Manish Chauhan, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti holiday was earlier declared on January 5, but now it will be considered on December 27, 2025 and has been kept in restricted holiday. Apart from this, there will be a holiday on April 1 due to the annual closure of bank accounts. Schools and government offices will also remain closed on this day.

School children will get the benefit of continuous holidays

There are many occasions in the 2026 holiday calendar when children will get consecutive holidays without any break.

Hazrat Ali’s birthday is on 3rd January and Sunday is on 4th January, i.e. two days continuous holiday.

25 January Sunday and 26 January Republic Day Monday, i.e. two consecutive days of holidays.

You will get the benefit of long weekend in March also

Sunday 1 March,

Holika Dahan Monday, March 2

4th March Holi Wednesday.

There will be a queue for festivals in November also

Diwali (Sunday) on 8th November,

Govardhan Puja (Monday) on 9th November,

Bhaiya Dooj and Chitragupta Jayanti on 11th November.

Guru Nanak Jayanti on 24th November.

There will be a holiday on Christmas Day on 25th December.

In this way, in November, children will get some relief from the stress of studies and ample opportunity to spend time with family.
