Up Maternity Benefits Scheme: Pregnancy and child care is very important in every woman’s life. For this purpose, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched “Maternity, Shishu Baalika Madad Yojana”, which provides financial assistance to pregnant women and their children.

The scheme includes both Maternity Benefits and Child Benefits.
- Maternity benefits:
- Registered male construction workers get a lump sum of Rs 6,000.
- On institutional delivery, women workers are given a minimum amount of wages of 3 months and a medical bonus of Rs 1,000.
- Financial assistance is also provided according to minimum wages on abortion or sterilization.
- Child benefits:
- 20,000 rupees on the birth of a son.
- A lump sum of Rs 25,000 on the birth of a daughter.
- The first or second daughter, or a duly adopted daughter, is a fixed deposit of Rs 25,000 who matures when unmarried by the age of 18.
- Fixed deposit of Rs 50,000 for disabled daughter.

Eligibility for Maternity Benefits:
- There should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- It is necessary to be registered as construction workers.
- Age is above 18 years of age.
- Only the first two delivery will be benefited.
Eligibility for Child Benefits:
- Only on the birth of a daughter as the first or second child.
- It is necessary to have a birth certificate.
- Daughter remained unmarried till the age of 18 years.
- Other government schemes should not be beneficiaries.
