Under the leadership of Yogi government, 30 companies will invest Rs 1407 crore in the fisheries sector in UP. More than 2000 youth will get employment in many districts including Varanasi and Barabanki through the proposals received from Meen Mahotsav and Investment Summit.

Lucknow. Yogi government is now preparing to provide employment to the youth of Uttar Pradesh on a large scale through fisheries development. Soon 30 companies will invest a total of Rs 1407 crore in the fisheries sector. This is expected to provide employment to more than two thousand youth in the state. Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Department has started preparations to put these investment proposals on the ground. The active functioning of the department is now becoming an inspiration for other states also. Big investment proposals have come up in many districts including Varanasi, Barabanki, Amethi.

Big proposals received from Pisces Mahotsav and Fisheries Investment Summit

Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Department received investment proposals worth Rs 1200 crore in the recently held Meen Mahotsav (27-28 February). Earlier, proposals worth Rs 207 crore were received in the Fisheries Investment Summit held on 17-18 December 2025. A total of 30 companies have expressed willingness to invest Rs 1407 crore through these two events.

Auro Sundaram’s 300 crore investment in Varanasi

According to the proposals received at Meen Mahotsav, Auro Sundaram Foods and Feeds Private Limited will invest Rs 300 crore in Varanasi. Apart from this, Probus Smart Thinks Private Limited, Godrej Agrovet Limited and Nexgen companies will invest Rs 200 crore each. Deepak Nexgen Feeds Private Limited plans to invest Rs 100 crore in Barabanki.

Andhra Pradesh’s Nexgen will set up fish processing plant

Andhra Pradesh’s Nexgen Feeds Private Limited will set up a fish processing plant in Uttar Pradesh by investing Rs 200 crore. Company director Deepak Srinivas has appreciated the industrial environment of the state. More than 150 youth will get employment through this plant and it will be ready by 2028. Meanwhile, AV Subramaniam of Deepak Nexgen Feeds Private Limited said that a fish feed plant will be set up in Barabanki. The project will cost Rs 100 crore and is likely to be completed by 2027. This will provide employment to about 300 youth.

More than two thousand youth will get employment

More than 5000 fish farmers, entrepreneurs and scientists from across the country and the state participated together in the Meen Mahotsav organized for the first time in Uttar Pradesh. The possibilities of fisheries development are being promoted under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Keeping in mind the goals of Vision 2047, the department is working rapidly. After these investment proposals come on the ground, more than two thousand youth are expected to get employment in the state. Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Department aims to create new opportunities for rural and urban youth by strengthening the fisheries industry.
