Under the vision of Yogi government, 1GW AI and high-performance computing hub will be established in UP. The MoU with AM Group will create $25 billion investment, 24×7 carbon-free energy and thousands of high-skilled employment opportunities.
Lucknow. In line with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, an important step has been taken towards making Uttar Pradesh the leading AI and digital infrastructure hub of the country. In this sequence, an agreement has been signed between AM Group and Invest UP, the investment promotion agency of the state government. Under this, 1 gigawatt (GW) high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence hub will be established in the state.
MoU and letter of intent issued for AI and HPC hub
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two parties regarding this project. On Thursday, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to representatives of AM Group.
State-of-the-art AI hub will be built on 289 acres of land
LOI has been issued by YIDA for 114 acres in Sector-28 and 175 acres in Sector-8D, totaling 289 acres of land. This state-of-the-art AI and HPC hub will be equipped with around 5 lakh high-performance chipsets.
Data and AI hub will run on 24×7 carbon-free energy
This hub will be based on 24×7 carbon-free energy, using wind energy, solar energy and pumped storage. The project will be established in the Yida region and is proposed to involve an investment of approximately US$25 billion.
Phased development, target of full 1 GW capacity by 2030
This AI and HPC hub will be developed in a phased manner.
- Operation of the first phase will start by the year 2028
- A target has been set to achieve full 1 GW capacity by the year 2030.
AI and high-performance computing will get new momentum
Given the rapidly growing demand for AI and high-performance computing in India, the Hub will cater to the needs of global hyperscalers, research institutes, enterprises and sovereign AI initiatives. AMG AI Labs is developing the entire value chain from energy to intelligent tokens with the aim of “democratizing AI.”
Indian developers will get access to state-of-the-art chipsets
Through this facility, the Indian developer community will get wide access to cutting-edge AI chipsets. This will accelerate the development of new AI solutions for the country and the world.
Big benefit to investment, employment and industrial development
This project is likely to bring large scale foreign direct investment (FDI) to Uttar Pradesh. Thousands of high-skilled jobs will also be created. The local industrial ecosystem will be strengthened in hardware manufacturing, software development and specialized cooling technologies.
UP will get leading recognition in digital economy
The state government believes that this initiative will prove to be a milestone in establishing Uttar Pradesh among the states at the forefront of digital economy.
