Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized on public welfare, law and order, infrastructure development and financial discipline in the review meeting of Budget 2026-27. The objective of the budget is to bring positive change in the lives of the poor, farmers, youth and deprived sections.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held detailed discussions on the budget proposals for the upcoming financial year 2026-27 in an important meeting on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that in the last almost nine years, Uttar Pradesh has made solid progress in the field of development, security and prosperity. Due to this progress, the people of the state have high expectations from the government and living up to those expectations is the top priority of the government.

Instructions to prepare budget keeping public welfare at the center

The Chief Minister gave clear instructions that the basic objective of the upcoming budget should be public welfare. He said that the soul of the budget should be to bring positive changes in the lives of the poor, farmers, labourers, women, youth and deprived sections of the society.

Review of departmental budget proposals and financial progress

In the meeting, the budget proposals of the departments under the Chief Minister and the departments of the Minister of State (Independent Charge), new demands and proposals of the State Government in the context of Union Budget 2026-27 were discussed in detail. Earlier, the Chief Minister also received information from departmental principal secretaries about the updated status of financial approval and expenditure relative to the budget in the current financial year.

Amendments in proposals as per Union Budget 2026-27

The Chief Minister said that the general budget of the Central Government is going to be presented on 1 February. He instructed the officers to study the provisions related to Uttar Pradesh in the Union Budget and make appropriate improvements in their departmental budget proposals as per requirement.

Focus on public welfare schemes and social security

It was informed in the meeting that in the budget proposals for 2026-27, special attention has been given to continuity of public welfare schemes, expansion of social security and further strengthening of basic facilities. Provisions related to food security, housing, health, education and essential services have been designed with the aim that their benefits can effectively reach the last person of the society.

Strong law and order described as the basis of development

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that strong law and order in the state is the strongest basis for development and investment. He directed that the budget proposals of the departments related to police, justice and administration should be aimed at public safety, speedy justice and further strengthening the confidence of the common citizen.

Emphasis on connectivity and employment through infrastructure development.

It was also told in the meeting that the budget proposals related to roads, buildings and other infrastructural development are aimed at increasing the connectivity, industrial activities and employment opportunities of the state. The Chief Minister said that the benefits of development should reach both urban and rural areas equally.

Special emphasis on financial discipline and quality spending

Emphasizing on financial management, the Chief Minister said that public welfare and financial discipline complement each other. He directed that the resources should be used in such a way that the quality of the schemes increases, there is timely implementation and concrete results are visible to the public.

Focus on revenue consolidation and expenditure efficiency

It was informed in the meeting that the proposals related to revenue strengthening, administrative reforms and expenditure efficiency have been incorporated in such a way that the financial stability of the state is maintained and continuity in development works is ensured.

Balancing people’s aspirations and long-term development

The Chief Minister said that the upcoming budget should further strengthen the same confidence with which Uttar Pradesh has created its new identity in the country in the last nine years. He directed the officials to finalize the budget proposals keeping in mind the public aspirations, regional needs and long-term development.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the budget for the upcoming financial year will prove to be a strong step towards fulfilling the dreams and expectations of the people of the state through public welfare, good governance and financial prosperity.

Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Shri JPS Rathore and Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Shri Dayashankar Singh were specially present in the meeting.
