Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed on AI mission, sports colleges, quaternary health centres, women entrepreneurship, tourism and education reforms in the 2026-27 budget. This budget was said to take UP towards the goal of 1 trillion dollar economy and developed India 2047.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while presenting the budget for the year 2026-27 in the Assembly, said that this budget focuses on women, youth, health, education, sports, tourism and welfare of disabled people. This is an important step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a developed India by 2047. He said that Uttar Pradesh is no longer a sick state but has become the growth engine of the country’s economy and is moving towards becoming a 1 trillion dollar economy by 2029-30.
Women empowerment and youth development: Big announcement of One Sports College
The Chief Minister said that remarkable progress has been made for women under the e-Cube (Employment, Enterprises, Excellence) model. Female labor participation has increased from 13% to 36%. Mahila Udyami Product Marketing Scheme and Mahila Udyami Credit Card Scheme have been announced in the budget. With this, women will get interest free capital. Labor women’s hostels will be built in every district. ‘One District, One Commissionerate, One Divisional Headquarters, One Sports College’ has been envisioned for the youth. Sports colleges will be established at 18 commissionerate headquarters. Major Dhyan Chand Sports University of Meerut will be completed soon.
Tourism and hotel infrastructure: 1 lakh new hotel rooms
The Chief Minister said that 122 crore tourists will visit UP in 2024-25. There is a provision in the budget to develop 1 lakh new hotel rooms and 50,000 home-stays on PPP model. License fee of women guides has been waived.
Health Revolution: Country’s first quaternary health center at SGPGI
Now 81 medical colleges and 2 AIIMS are functioning in the state. 5.46 crore Ayushman cards have been issued. Free dialysis and radiology services will be provided in every district. The country’s first quaternary health care center will be established in SGPGI Lucknow, for which a provision of Rs 250 crore has been made. Organ transplant services will be strengthened.
Emphasis on midtech, AI and robotics in health sector
In the budget, AI and robotic technology will be linked to health services under Medical Technology (MidTech). Center of Excellence will be strengthened with SGPGI and IIT Kanpur. New trauma centers and road safety provisions are also included.
Education and digital empowerment: tablets, smartphones and AI
Tablets and smartphones will be given under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme. Two CM Composite Schools will be established in all 75 districts. Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools will be expanded. Cashless health facility will be provided for teachers. Free sanitary napkins and AI based education for girls will be promoted.
AI Mission and Cyber Security Operation Center
AI Center of Excellence, Indian AI Data Labs and Cyber Security Operation Center will be established under Uttar Pradesh AI Mission. Data center clusters will be developed. Under the STEM AI Mission, AI labs and skill development programs will be started in polytechnic institutions.
Persons with Disabilities and Social Welfare Schemes
Day-care centres, e-tricycles, artificial limb distribution centers and special training centers will be established for disabled children. The Chief Minister said that this budget is going to take forward the resolve of developed India and developed Uttar Pradesh.
