After rigging came to light in the Assistant Professor recruitment examination in UP, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has canceled the examination. STF exposed the fake question paper gang and arrested three accused. The examination will now be conducted again in a fair manner.

STF got important information related to rigging in examination
In this sequence, STF Uttar Pradesh received information related to irregularities, rigging and illegal money recovery regarding the examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Prayagraj in April 2025 for the post of Assistant Professor (Assistant Professor) under Advertisement No. 51.
Confidential investigation started on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a confidential and impartial investigation into the entire episode. Based on the information received, STF took immediate action.
Fake question paper gang busted, three accused arrested
On April 20, 2025, STF arrested three accused Mehboob Ali, Baijnath Pal, Vinay Pal of the gang who cheated the candidates by creating fake question papers. These accused were found involved in rigging and illegal money collection in the Assistant Professor examination held on 16 and 17 April 2025.
FIR registered in Lucknow, case under serious sections
In this regard, M.A. in police station Vibhutikhand, district Lucknow. 144/25 was recorded. A case was registered against the accused under sections 112, 308(5) and 318(4) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) 2023.
Chairman resigns to maintain impartiality of commission
To ensure impartiality and confidentiality of the investigation, resignation was taken from the then Commission Chairman. The reason for this was that the accused Mehboob Ali was the confidential assistant of the outgoing Commission Chairman.
Mehboob Ali confessed to the crime during interrogation
During interrogation, accused Mehboob Ali admitted that he had taken out question papers of various subjects during the moderation process. He made these question papers available to many candidates through different mediums for money. His confession has been confirmed by intensive investigation and data analysis done by STF.
Mobile data analysis reveals more suspects
During the investigation, data analysis of mobile numbers of the arrested accused and the candidates associated with them was done. Besides, on the basis of information received from the informer system, names and mobile numbers of some other suspicious persons also came to light.
Confirmation of breach of integrity of examination
STF wrote a letter to the Commission asking for data of suspicious candidates. After matching the available data, it became clear that the integrity of the Assistant Professor examination has been violated.
Chief Minister Yogi ordered to cancel the exam
On the basis of all these facts, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the cancellation of the Assistant Professor examination. Also, Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has been directed to conduct the examination again soon, in a completely fair and transparent manner.
