More than 65,000 posts will be appointed under Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government has emphasized on the development of women and children through digital Anganwadi, health insurance and nutrition schemes.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the program organized at Lok Bhavan that this year a target has been set to recruit more than 5,000 Anganwadi workers and more than 60,000 assistants. The recruitment process has started. He said that Anganwadi workers have been linked to Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) to provide social security. Apart from this, under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, more than 3 lakh workers and assistants are getting health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh every year.
Transparent Recruitment Process and Digital Anganwadi System
CM Yogi said that now the appointment is completely transparent. Appointment letters are being given without recommendation and without money. Anganwadi workers are being provided with smartphones and modern growth monitoring equipment, so that nutrition and child development programs can be made digital and effective. He said that earlier due to lack of smartphones, real time data was not available, which affected the ranking of the state. Now smartphones are being distributed in all the districts.
National Education Policy and increasing role of Anganwadi
The Chief Minister said that under the new education policy, pre-primary education for children aged 3 to 5 years will be conducted in Anganwadi centers only. With this the role of Anganwadi workers will become more important. He said that 27,000 centers of basic education are also now being given to Anganwadis, which will help in the overall development of children.
Anganwadi workers honored with ‘Yashoda Maiya’
CM Yogi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the title of ‘Yashoda Maiya’ to Anganwadi workers. Just as Yashoda had nurtured Lord Krishna, similarly today Anganwadi workers are shaping the future of children. He said that this honor comes with great responsibility and they have an important role in strengthening the future of the country.
Role of Anganwadi in the fight against malnutrition
The Chief Minister said that if the child is healthy and the mother is well-nourished, then the future of the country will be strong. In the last 9 years, the government has taken many steps against malnutrition. Anganwadi workers and assistants are playing a key role in this fight, which has yielded positive results.
Inauguration of projects worth more than Rs 450 crore
CM Yogi said that new Anganwadi centers are being built at a cost of Rs 137 crore. The centers and offices built under projects worth Rs 313 crore were inaugurated. This campaign is important in furthering the goal of ‘well-nourished-literate-strong India’.
Contribution of Anganwadi and health workers during Corona period
The Chief Minister said that Anganwadi, Asha and ANM workers played an important role as frontline workers during the Corona pandemic. He conducted door-to-door screening and provided essential services to the people, due to which Covid management was successful in the state.
Health screening of 1.70 crore children and reduction in malnutrition.
CM Yogi said that in the last 9 years, health check-up of more than 1 crore 70 lakh children was done. About 1.5 lakh children were found to be malnourished, of which 80% were eliminated from malnutrition. The rate of stunting has reduced from 48% to 37%. Nutritional food is being distributed to 1 crore 56 lakh beneficiaries every month through face recognition system.
Attack on corruption in nutrition system before 2017
The Chief Minister said that before 2017, the mafia had control over nutrition distribution. There were disturbances in the rights of malnourished children and mothers. Now the government has completely changed this system and made it transparent, due to which the right benefits are reaching the needy.
Transparency in recruitment: Employment received without recommendation
CM Yogi said that now neither recommendation nor money is involved in the recruitment process. Earlier there was a system of ‘Parchi and Kharchi’, but now it has completely ended. Last year, appointment letters were given to 19,424 workers and 2,519 chief servants, in which no complaints were received.
Anganwadi centers are becoming digital service centers
The Chief Minister said that smartphones are being given to more than 69,000 workers. This will upload real time data and improve the national ranking of the state. Also, more than 1.33 lakh stadiometers, more than 58,000 weighing machines and other equipment are being provided.
Smart Anganwadi Center and better honorarium scheme
CM Yogi said that 23,647 Anganwadi centers are being made capable centres, where there will be facilities like LED TV, RO water, nutrition garden and pre-school kit. He said that as the centers become smart, the honorarium of the workers will also be increased. A proposal is being prepared for this.
Initiative to improve outsourcing system and end exploitation
The Chief Minister said that earlier outsourcing companies used to exploit the employees. Now the government has decided to form a corporation for this, which will increase transparency and the employees will get proper honorarium.
Presence of prominent public representatives in the program
Women and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya, Minister of State Pratibha Shukla, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, many MLAs and senior officials were present in this program.
