Unreal power-hitting in SA20 as Dewald Brevis, Sherfane Rutherford combine to smash 6 consecutive sixes – Watch

New Delhi: The pair of Dewald Brevis and Sherfane Rutherford unleashed their beast mode in SA20 as Pretoria Capitals handed a massive 85-run loss to MI Cape Town to register their first win in the competition. Both Brevis and Rutherford combined together to smash six consecutive sixes in the game enthralling the crowd to the fullest.

While Brevis played an unbeaten knock of 36 runs off just 13 balls which was powered by 4 massive sixes and a lone boundary, Rutherford scored lethal 47 runs in just 15 deliveries studded with 6 sixes to push the Cape Town side against the wall.

The duo hit six sixes in a row to power the Capitals to a formidable score of 220 for 5, putting in an unbeaten stand of 86 runs for the 6th wicket from just 27 balls. In the last three overs of the innings, as many as 72 runs were scored by the lethal pair for the Capitals turning the match into a spectacle.

In response, the MI Cape Town side was reduced to a meagre score of 135 in 14.2 overs with Rutherford returning with 4 wickets after a superlative batting show and South African spinner Keshav Maharaj coming up with a great spell of 3 for 28. Meanwhile, Tymal Mills, Lizaad Williams and Bryce Parsons claimed one wicket each for the winning side with Wihan Lubbe smacking 60 runs off just 36 balls including two sixes and seven fours earlier in the innings.

Shai Hope also came up with a good performance with the bat scoring 45 runs off 30 balls while MI Cape Town pace bowler Kagiso Rabada proved to be expensive in his comeback game after a long injury layoff  as he ended up conceding 48 runs but also claimed two wickets in his four-over spell.

For MI Cape Town, each of their top four batters Rassie van der Dussen (28), Ryan Rickelton (33), Reeza Hendricks (18) and Nicholas Pooran (25 off 6 balls; 4 sixes) got starts but failed to convert.
