On the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ was grandly inaugurated from Karamsad. CM Bhupendra Patel and Tripura CM Manik Saha flagged off the yatra. This yatra will reach the Statue of Unity on December 6 and will give the message of national unity.
Gandhinagar. The national march ‘Sardar@150: Unity March’, organized on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was flagged off by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha from Karamsad on Tuesday. The yatra will reach the Statue of Unity, Kevadiya on December 6 amid a huge crowd at Karamsad in Anand district and slogans of ‘Jai Sardar’.
Message of patriotism with 150 permanent pedestrians
This National Padyatra will proceed through Anand, Vadodara and Narmada districts. 150 permanent pedestrians are walking along it. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that ‘Sardar@150: Unity March’ will pave the way for patriotism and national unity and is a true tribute to Sardar Patel.
Salute to Sardar Patel and Dr. Ambedkar on Constitution Day
The Chief Minister paid tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and the members of the Constituent Assembly on Constitution Day. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel is being organized on a grand scale across the country. Sardar Patel’s childhood and education took place in Karamsad, hence this journey from Karamsad to the Statue of Unity has special significance.
Statue of Unity- Symbol of power and pride of India
CM Patel said that Prime Minister Modi has paid a true tribute to the Iron Man by building the Statue of Unity. This world’s tallest statue is a symbol of India’s strength, unity and pride.
Unification of 562 princely states- historical contribution of Sardar Patel
The Chief Minister reminded that Sardar Patel, as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country, created a united India by merging 562 princely states. He said that Prime Minister Modi is following the same path and taking forward the resolve of ‘One India, Best India’ and ‘Self-reliant India’.
Objective of Unity March- National unity and values of Sardar Patel
Chief Minister Patel said that this Padyatra is an effort to convey the life values of Sardar Saheb to the common people. The message of national unity will become stronger among the people during the yatra. He also mentioned the work done on the construction of Ram temple, labor codes and the interests of farmers and workers.
The country became more united after the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has become more united and stronger from Kashmir to Kanyakumari due to the removal of Article 370.
Emphasis on poverty alleviation and development plans
CM Patel said that the Prime Minister has fulfilled the dream of eradicating poverty by providing houses, drinking water and various welfare schemes to the poor. He appealed to make a developed India through the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha’s address – message of unity to the youth
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that this yatra is not just a padayatra but a symbol of national unity, integrity and respect. He shared information about the ‘Sardar@150’ celebrations organized in Tripura and gave the message to the youth to play an active role in nation building.
Appreciation of contribution of Sardar Patel
Shri Saha said that Sardar Patel created a nation by merging the princely states. Prime Minister Modi launched the National Unity Day and ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative from 2014, which connects the languages, cultures and heritage of the country.
Tribute to Sardar Patel, display of song and short film in the program
Before the program, the leaders visited Sardar Patel’s residence in Karamsad and paid homage. A song based on the life of Sardar Patel was launched at Shastri Maidan and a short film of Ekta Padyatra made by ‘My Bharat’ was shown.
