This trident is called Shakti Stambh
This trident installed in the Shakti temple of Uttarkashi is called Shakti Stambh. It is said that when Mahishasura defeated the gods in the war after receiving many boons, all the gods invoked Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga destroyed all the demons including Mahishasura with her divine trident and came to this place and installed her trident. That’s why this Trishul is established here. It is also called Shakti Stambh because of the trident of Goddess Durga i.e. Shakti.

Scientists could not understand this mystery
Another belief related to this trident is that till date no one has been able to tell from which metal it is made. Scientists also made many efforts but could not extract information about this metal. The height of this trident is about 20 feet but no one knows how deep it is buried in the ground. It is said that the sunken part of this trident goes to the underworld. On occasions like Navratri etc., there is a huge crowd of devotees who visit this Trishul.
The shape of the trident is strange
As many mysteries are associated with this trident, its shape is equally mysterious. The prong in the middle is like a sword and the shape of the surrounding prongs is like a sword. It is said that this trident does not move even a little bit even with full force, but if someone tries to move it while meditating on the Goddess with a true heart, then it starts moving even with one finger. This is the biggest feature of this trident.
