New Delhi: In a sharp escalation of political rhetoric amid ongoing disruptions in the Budget Session of Parliament, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him and his Congress party of orchestrating a plan to prevent Prime Minister Narendra Modi from speaking allegedly through physical means.
In a post on X, Reddy wrote that the Congress, under Gandhi’s instructions, had resorted to extreme tactics to disrupt the proceedings targeting the Prime Minister’s traditional concluding address on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address.

“Before every Parliament session, Rahul Gandhi and his international collaborators manufacture bogus news that then gets published in a friendly newspaper. Rahul Gandhi then uses this as an excuse to disrupt Parliament,” Reddy wrote. He further alleged that the public had seen through what he called Gandhi’s “Standard Operating Procedure (SOP),” concluding that the Congress leader “does not wish to see India progress and is unable to digest a strong and developed India.”
Reddy went on to accuse Gandhi of being “severely compromised” and “peddling China and Pakistan’s agenda,” claiming the Congress had transformed into a “party of goondas” evident from Gandhi’s “dangerous utterances” and “extremely disturbing actions in Parliament.”
The minister wrote that the Prime Minister’s speech would have highlighted key achievements, such as “the success in the recently concluded trade negotiations with the European Union, the progress in the US trade deal and the recently announced budget.”
In his most serious charge, the minister claimed that Congress MPs were planning to physically attack the Prime Minister inside the Lok Sabha. “Rahul Gandhi and his coterie were planning to physically attack Hon’ble Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha and the decision to send women MPs was a cover to orchestrate this attack,” Reddy said.
Reddy’s allegations follow days of chaos in the Lok Sabha, where proceedings have been repeatedly adjourned amid protests by opposition members, including Congress MPs. Reports indicate that disruptions prevented Prime Minister Modi from delivering his planned address in the Lower House, with the opposition citing various grievances, including demands for Rahul Gandhi to speak during the debate.
