Despite Leipzig’s efforts to level again, Union capitalised on counter-attacks, with Andras Schafer nearly scoring before Starke confirmed the win in stoppage time.

Union Berlin’s performance was efficient, generating 1.45 expected goals from 12 shots compared to Leipzig’s 0.59 from nine attempts.
