Whereas in urban areas it remained stable at 50.9%. The most interesting thing is that the women’s participation rate (LFPR) increased to 34.1% in September, which is the highest since May 2025.
PLFS data for September 2025 shows that the number of people looking for work is continuously increasing, but the pace of jobs has not increased that much. This has shown a slight increase in unemployment. Employment opportunities, especially for women, are becoming limited, while unemployment has started raising its head again in rural India.
