New Delhi: Calling BJP administration in Delhi “sanatani” government, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday asserted that this year’s Diwali in National Capital will be different.
At a Diwali Milan Programme organised by Delhi BJP on DDU Marg, CM Gupta said that under a “Sanatani” government, Diwali’s “divinity and grandness” in Delhi will be different from previous years. The event was held at the newly inaugurated Delhi BJP office.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Union minister Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Assembly speaker Vijender Gupta and BJP MPs including Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj and Yogender Chandolia were present in the event.
CM highlighted different steps taken by her government in past 9 months including Yamuna cleaning, GST refunds and getting the ban on green crackers lifted. Delhi cabinet ministers Ashish Sood and Manjinder Singh Sirsa were also present at the function.
CM Gupta also invided people to take part in the ‘Deepotsav’ programme in Saturday evening at Kartavya Path. In the ‘Deepotsav’ event over 1.5 lakh diyas will be lit.
Currently the BJP’s office is located on Pant Marg near the Parliament House. The party will shift to its new building around Devothani Ekadashi.
