Under Rs 19.79 lakh price, April 2027 launch and Hilux rival: Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler pickup unveiled for India

Mahindra has unveiled the production version of its long-awaited lifestyle pickup, the Scorpio Lifestyler, based on the 2023 Global Pik Up concept. Built on the same body-on-frame chassis as the Scorpio N, the pickup will rival the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross when it launches in India. Here is everything revealed at the unveiling.

Priced under Rs 19.79 lakh, launching April 2027

Mahindra has confirmed the Scorpio Lifestyler will launch in India by April 2027, with prices starting below Rs 19.79 lakh ex-showroom. This significantly undercuts rivals like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, both of which start above Rs 25 lakh, giving Mahindra a strong pricing advantage in the lifestyle pickup segment.

Rugged front with LED lighting

Scorpio Lifestyler gets high-set LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, a wide honeycomb-patterned grille with chrome accents, and a Scorpio wordmark on the bonnet’s leading edge. Underneath sits a muscular skid plate with Mahindra lettering, a meshed air dam, and vertically oriented LED fog lamps.

Three editions inspired by nature

Mahindra will offer the Scorpio Lifestyler in three editions, Valley, Reef and Trail, finished in Artemis Grey, Aquareef and Sahara Beige respectively, each with its own decals and accessories. The editions are designed to represent different environments, mountains, oceans and deserts, appealing to distinct buyer preferences.

Upmarket cabin despite the rugged exterior

Inside, the Scorpio Lifestyler features a portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen flanked by AC vents, with a climate control panel and physical buttons below. The driver gets a three-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster, while the transmission tunnel houses additional physical controls, blending rugged capability with modern convenience.

A new segment for the Indian market

Mahindra believes the Scorpio Lifestyler could create a new segment in India, similar to how the original Scorpio helped establish the mainstream SUV category in 2002, which now accounts for around two-thirds of India’s passenger vehicle market. The pickup will be manufactured in India and also sold internationally under the simpler Lifestyler name.
