Sampath Bank will be looking forward to extend their six match winning streak when they take on Abans Group at the CCC ground today for the final of the Mercantile Cricket Association’s Champions League Cricket Tournament powered by Honour Mobile Phones.
In the league stage of the tournament, Sampath Bank defeated LOLC Holdings by 64 runs, Abans Group by 76 runs, MAS Intimates by 131 runs, Commercial Bank by 91 runs and Ceylinco General Insurance by 02 runs to top the points table. In the semifinal Sampath Bank edged out MAS Intimates by six wickets to reach the final.
In the league stage, Abans Group won three games, lost one and one game was abandoned due to inclement weather. The match with MAS Intimate was abandoned after which they lost to Sampath Bank by 76 runs and have been on a winning streak defeating Commercial Bank by 3 wickets, Ceylinco General Insurance by 8 wickets and LOLC Holding by 2 wickets. In the semifinal Abans defeated LOLC Holdings by three wickets to reach the final.
