Bollywood actress Mouni Roy has spoken openly about the disturbing incident that happened at a recent event in Karnal, Haryana. It is alleged that some people present in the audience, including elderly men, molested her.
While sharing her experience on Instagram Stories, the actress said that when she was going towards the stage, many men touched her waist on the pretext of taking photographs.
He wrote, ‘There was an event in Karnal yesterday and I am extremely disappointed with the behavior of the guests, especially the two uncles who are of grandparents’ age. As soon as the program started, when I moved towards the stage, uncle and all the men in the family put their hands on my waist to click photographs. When I said ‘Sir, please remove your hand’, he didn’t like it at all.
Misbehavior with Mouni Roy
According to Mouni, the situation worsened as soon as she reached the stage. Two men standing in front made obscene comments, made dirty gestures and abused. Mouni said, ‘There is an even more interesting story on stage. Two uncles were standing right in front of me and making obscene comments, making obscene gestures and abusing me. I realized this and first politely signaled him not to do so, upon which he started throwing roses at me. Then in the middle of the performance, I started leaving the stage, but immediately came back and completed my performance. Even after this, he did not stop nor did any family member or organizers remove him from the front.
Mouni Roy is worried about the upcoming girls
Despite being extremely upset, the actress returned to complete her performance. Expressing concern for the girls coming into the industry, she said, ‘If someone like me has to face all this, then I can’t even imagine what new girls who start working and doing shows must go through. I am humiliated and shocked and want the authorities to take action against this intolerable behaviour.
Artists are doing this to earn their living
Demanding strict action, Mouni said that artistes are just trying to earn their livelihood honestly. He wrote, ‘We are artists and are honestly trying to earn a living through our art. Imagine what these people would do if their friends behaved like this towards their daughters, sisters or any family member! Shame on you!’

Posting another story, he wrote, ‘I also want to tell that the stage was very high and this uncle was making the video from a lower angle. When someone asked them to stop, they abused them. I love my country, my people, my traditions, but all this? How shameless! Proud to be a man! I never post anything negative that happens to me. But all this. I have no words. I have no words or abuse to justify this behavior. We artists go to these programs to congratulate the bride and groom and add to their happiness. We are their guests and they harass us like this. Shit!’
