The right -wing forces are strengthening with Tommy Robinson’s rally in Britain. In a conversation with Asianet Newzel, Lord Rami Ranger warned that uncontrolled migration, crime and political failure could destroy the social structure of the country.
Britain is currently in the midst of a hot debate. Last week, up to 1,50,000 protesters took to the streets of London in support of radical right -wing Tommy Robinson – a man who was once considered politically untouchable. The march took place amid increasing number of people crossing channels from small boats, having asylum seekers in hotels, increasing debate on freedom of speaking and increasing public anger over the continuous economic recession. What was once considered to be the politics of margins, now it is now dangerously getting closer to the mainstream, which has led to a debate on the future of British democracy, immigration and social unity.
Amid growing concerns, Heena Sharma of Asianet Newst English had a special conversation with Lord Rami Ranger. Lord Ranger is a British-Indian businessman, social worker and member of the House of Lords. He openly assessed Britain’s immigration crisis and the dangers of the country’s unity.

Lord Rami Ranger: “Britain has always been a welcome country”
In his interview, Lord Ranger created a careful balance amid the Britain’s defense of Britain’s immigrant heritage and expressing concern over the misuse of the system. He himself was a refugee who came here five decades ago. He started his talk praising the UK’s openness.
“Britain has always been a welcoming country for those who want to come here, want to work hard, want to realize their dreams and ambitions and become a property. So there is no problem. Ever since you can miss it, I have been inviting refugees and needy people,” he said.
He recalled the previous examples of Jewish refugees and Asians extracted from Uganda, who got security in Britain:
“Britain has an open policy that you will not refuse to really need help.
“I have been here for 55 years, Britain accepts diversity, respects diversity and protects diversity through laws. There are laws against any kind of discrimination, especially against caste, religion, gender. Therefore, it is a very multicultural country with mosques, temples, gurudwaras, meetings and churches,” he further said.
“Enough is enough”: When hospitality turns into resentment
But Lord Ranger also admitted why the patience of the public is now responding. Small boats are coming after crossing the channel and it is taking years to process the matters of refuge, which is increasing resentment.
“Recently people have found that they can only misuse the hospitality of this great country by coming in boats and, because the process is very long in this country … they live for many years. As long as people process … The situation changes, their children become, their roots in this country, they freeze,” they explained.
He warned that services from people coming without investigation are collapsing:
“People are fed up … The essence of the story is that enough.
And he drawn a sharp cultural line:
“Some people come to make their lives in this country and some people come to change you. And that’s why people are really fed up … Why do you want to change the institutions that have served this country for years and centuries? Therefore, wrong types of immigrants too … also bringing this negative response to the local people.”
Lord Ranger further said, “The leaders of the countries from which these people come, will talk to their community and tell them that if you come to any country, you will have to follow the rules, you have to live according to their standards, not to change it. People oppose it. There is a reaction that provides safety nets to people and people have come to misuse it. ”
Political result: Reform UK party’s rise
The new pace of hardcore right wing is already giving a new shape to politics, although elections are not expected for the next four years. Brexit leader Nigel Faraj’s reform UK party has reached near 40% in the opinion poll on the basis of public anger on immigration.
Lord Ranger blamed both major parties for promoting the crisis.
“Unfortunately, the labor party has always taken advantage of migrants … they come, they are struggling, they want to vote for the party that gives them benefits.”
Nor did he spare Conservatives:
“During their power, immigrants were coming in large numbers. They could not stop it. Politicians also put their agenda at the top. There was a policy to send these people to Rwanda, but then they faced challenges in the court and they stopped the plan.”
“But now, I think the balance has deteriorated, whether you are a labor, whether you are Conservative, you cannot walk anymore with the policies of a few years ago because there is a response, you know, a third party has emerged,” he further said.
In his view, the failure of the mainstream parties has given a place to the Reform UK party: “They have captured the imagination of the people and have actually made a big dent among the conservative voters.”
Protect social unity
For Lord Ranger, the deep danger is in the fact what can be meant for the fabric of Britain’s tolerance.
“It is very inconvenient and it scares us that things can get out of hand,” he said, warning that resentment can spread to installed immigrants and ethnic minorities who have contributed a lot to the country.
“There is a big concern on whether there will be any threat to migrants and certainly the caste minorities living in Britain. What kind of political representation can we see in Parliament in the coming days? Will something be raised in Parliament to protect these weak people? 100%,” he further said.
However, Lord Ranger warned that the deep problem is not in a man, but he represents it.
“Every politician of every political party is now listening to concern because they are in public life – because they want to serve the public. And if they ignore the wishes of the people, the concerns of the people, then it may turn upside down on them and their party. If you do not eliminate evil from the root, you will encourage more people to openly, and our caste, religion, our social unity can be encouraged to be damaged. Is.”
He said that such damage may take “years to recover” during which Britain will risk losing and people. “People are already going due to high tax,” he said.
“Now, because the crime in the United Kingdom is also very high – because there is a lot of freedom – many people are going because of this. And if people keep coming without investigation or investigation, they can be criminals, they can be gangsters, they can be drug dealers, anything. And it can affect the fabric of this society.”
On social media, anti -immigration demonstrations often have emotions of foreign malice, yet Lord Ranger admitted that not all concerns were vested in prejudice.
“There were some people who were honestly saying how there are many immigrants in some areas such as labor sector and housing sector. But at the same time, the UK would have to continue to assimilate these immigrants to progress as a nation.”
He also warned against letting racism go out of control.
“It is a very fair country. People do not even want racism to get out of hand because racism is a cancer. If it is not tested or controlled, it can actually harm the whole country. This country is a small country and live here to the immigrant shoulders of about 150 countries. Britain is diverse, very metropolitan, and while it is not a strength, it can also have a strength, if it is not a strength. Are.”
Call for leadership and responsibility
For Lord Ranger, politicians are now facing a decisive examination. He insisted that those who have made a successful life in Britain should not pay the price of uncontrolled migration.
“People will really have to take responsibility. They have to overcome the concern of the people of those vast majority who are speaking very loudly – that much is enough, you have to stop these boats,
“A pensioner who has worked his entire life to build this country, he lives without a heating bill, fuel aid for winter.
Britain at an intersection
The recent rally and reform UK boom in London has pushed Britain into an uncomfortable conversation about identity, migration and democracy. Experts warning the “mainstream and strengthening of the mainstream” of the hardcore right, while Lord Ranger and others argue that ignoring public concerns can cause irreparable damage.
Matthew Feldman, a visiting professor at Liverpool Hope University and expert at radical right -wing extremism, recently told AFP: “Flood water is growing, but let’s not kneel.”
For Lord Ranger, the solution lies in the balance: protecting the tradition of openness of Britain and ensuring that the system is not misused. In his words, the pride of the success story of an immigrant and deep concern for the country that he calls his home.
