Television actor Ujjwal Sharma recently sat down with podcast host Siddharth Kannan to share his side of the story following the tragic demise of co-star Sanchita Ugale. Breaking his silence, he addressed mental harassment allegations, the viral chat screenshots, the severe professional fallout he has faced, and more.
Getting Sanchita’s Death News Call
Ujjwal revealed he learned of Sanchita’s tragic passing when a co-actor called him with the news. He emphasized that initially he couldn’t digest it, but later, when he got to know she committed suicide, he felt very bad since he worked with her and she was his friend.
Sanchita’s Suicidal Thoughts
Sharing the unknown truth, Ujwal mentioned that he felt bad also because they discussed Sanchita’s suicidal thoughts. The actor highlighted that Sanchita didn’t directly express her suicidal thoughts, but he felt it through her statements, such as saying she did not feel alive, which were deeply concerning. He also mentioned that she once told him over chat that she didn’t want to live, and he tried to encourage her.
Sanchita’s Depression And Treatment
Speaking up about her mental struggle, Ujwal and people on the sets also got to know about Sanchita’s depression and that she was on medication prescribed by a psychiatrist. The actor expressed he was shattered to hear her death news as she was young and everything was fine.

The actor revealed he met Sanchita three months before, when she was replaced from the show Saajan Ghar Jana.

Ujwal revealed that, as per his knowledge, the production house called Sanchita’s family, asking them to let her rest and take medication, and that once she is fine, she can rejoin. He shared that even the production arranged a meeting with the psychiatrist.

Revealing what he noticed, Ujwal shared that Sanchita used to feel lost between conversations, forget her lines more frequently, and look at one spot. He also shared that others around her on set had noticed similar warning signs. He also shared that the actress’s family knew about her depression and stress.

Speaking up about the allegations he faced after Sanchita’s demise by her friend, Ujwal shared that he didn’t know her friend, nor had he ever met her. He highlighted that he had no idea about her friend, and the way things were presented was inappropriate.

Sharing his justification for the language he used, Ujwal said he talked with Sanchita over chats; he shared that it happened because Sanchita was abusing him and was taking out her frustration, and he called her Chapri in reaction. Accepting what he said, Ujwal mentioned that the police had access to Sanchita’s phone, so they understood the matter easily.

Ujwal revealed that after Saajan Ghar Jana, he signed a project for Star Plus, Sayonee, with Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey, but after he was all over the internet amid allegations, he was dropped.
