Ujjain’s devotee ‘Maxi Dog’
The holy month of Sawan is going on. This month of worship of Lord Shiva and fasting comes as an example of faith. But have you ever seen an animal fasting? A female dog ‘Maxi’ from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh is dominated on social media these days. The reason is to keep a fast on every Monday. It is not a common dog, but the ‘on -record’ employee of the Ujjain Police Department. He is posted at Nanakheda police station in Ujjain.
In Sawan, where the faith of humans is immersed in Shiv Bhakti, a Dog Officer “Maxi” in Ujjain is also in discussion these days. The reason is his disciplined Sawan fast and going to the temple. This is not a story, but the duty of Ujjain police itself is the reality of Dog ‘Maxi’. Maxi is on social media these days and all are adorning his devotion.
Who is Maxi?
Maxi is not an ordinary animal, she does duty like a police officer. This dog posted at Mahakal police station in Ujjain goes on duty with her handler every day and when a suspect comes, she immediately becomes alert. His training and dedication has made him a special part of the department. Not only this, like humans, she also has faith in Lord Shiva, policemen themselves are making such claims. Maxi is a special sniffer dog of Ujjain Police Department, which has helped to solve many big cases. But this time he is in the headlines due to religious faith. According to her handler, Maxi reduces food and drink a little as soon as Sawan arrives every year, and is seen sitting silently outside the Shiva temple.
Every Monday is seen in the temple
According to local policemen, Maxi’s behavior is very different on Monday. She automatically draws towards the temple and as soon as the bell rings, she sits quietly. She loves the tune of Shiva Aarti and she does not move till the Aarti is over.
Every Sawan keeps a fast on Monday?
Every spring does not eat maxi food on Monday. Police department employees say that in the rest of the days she eats food normally, but as soon as Monday comes, she sniffs the food. She is given milk or water, and she spends her day quietly. This habit has been continuously continuously for the last 2 years. Although from a scientific perspective, it can be considered only a ‘routine change’, but his handler says that during the spring she only eats light food and drinks water more often a day. As soon as Sawan started, Maxi started eating green vegetables and removed himself completely from meat. Policemen also shocked and consider it as ‘grace of Lord Shiva’.
How did fasting begin?
In the first year of Sawan, on Monday, she started quitting food on her own. Initially everyone felt this coincidence, but when this pattern started repeating every Monday, everyone was shocked.
Maxi is becoming viral on social media
Seeing this devotion of Maxi, many people are calling it a “true Shiva devotee” on social media, while some have even said that more faith than humans is seen in this dog. On some local pages of Ujjain, his photos and videos are becoming fiercely viral.
Different form of faith
The story of Maxi shows that faith is not limited to humans only. Sometimes animals also do what a person does not even think. This reverence of Sawan, from the streets of Ujjain to temples, is now running on four legs, ‘Maxi.
