Why was the definition of discrimination kept so broad?
Discrimination is defined very broadly in the new rules. Any unfair treatment related to caste, religion, gender, disability, ethnicity, place of birth or identity will be considered discrimination. This includes both open (direct) and hidden (indirect) discrimination. Critics say that such an open definition can also be misused.
