US President Donald Trump has made a big announcement on Thursday. He has ordered government agencies to ‘identify and release’ government files related to UFOs and aliens. Many people in America had been demanding this for decades. Trump posted on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’, “In view of the tremendous interest of the people, I will direct the Secretary of War and other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs).”
However, Trump did not clarify whether classified or confidential documents would also be made public. But he did say that these files should include ‘every kind of information related to these very complex, but very interesting and important cases’. Earlier in the day, Republican Trump had claimed that his Democratic predecessor, Barack Obama, had leaked ‘classified’ information while talking about the existence of aliens in a recent viral podcast. Obama told host Brian Tyler Cohen, “They (aliens) are real, but I have not seen them and they are not … kept in Area 51.”
Obama further said, “There is no underground facility there. Unless there is some huge conspiracy and they have hidden it from the President of the United States.” Let us tell you that Area 51 is a top-secret military base of America in Nevada, which has been at the center of many conspiracy theories related to UFOs.
On Thursday, when Trump was asked about these things of Obama, he told reporters, “Obama has given classified information, he should not have done that.” Trump did not say which part of Obama’s remarks were classified, but he claimed that “Obama made a big mistake.”
When asked about his own opinion about aliens, Trump, 79, said, “I don’t know if they’re real or not.” So far, no evidence of any intelligent life outside Earth has been found.
In recent years, people’s interest in UFOs and UAPs has increased again. The US government has investigated many mysterious things seen in the sky. The government was worried whether enemy countries were testing very advanced technology. In March 2024, the Pentagon released a report.
