Bigg Boss 20 contestant Uditi Singh has opened up about her past relationship with actor Karan Wahi, describing their breakup as a “blessing in disguise” and recalling that she often felt demotivated during their relationship.
Speaking to fellow contestant Scoutt, Uditi said the relationship became strained during the Covid-19 lockdown and that the separation eventually changed the course of her personal and professional life.
“After the breakup, it was really a blessing in disguise for me. Because my entire career, my entire life, everything changed,” she said.
Uditi recalled that she and her former partner had adopted a Golden Retriever named Noah during the lockdown. She said disagreements over household responsibilities and caring for the pet became a source of tension between them.
According to Uditi, Karan would sometimes tell her that she did not know how to handle certain responsibilities, including caring for Noah. She described his approach as dominating and said it left her feeling that her partner was “very demotivating”.
Uditi also reflected on how circumstances can influence relationships.
“If you don’t get the stars aligned, then there is a fight over everything. And when you get them aligned, everything is good. So it was like that,” she said.
Uditi and Karan were publicly linked around 2019-20, with Karan having shared pictures with her at the time. Uditi has previously told her Bigg Boss 20 housemates that the relationship lasted around two-and-a-half years and that the two had discussed marriage.
She had also revealed that her parents had reservations about the relationship, including concerns related to their age difference and Karan being an actor.
On the professional front, Uditi began her career as a model before moving into music videos and acting. She has appeared in music videos including Suroor, Bewafai Nu Salaam, Yaadein Teriyan Meriyan, Yeh Dil Deewana, Aaoge Tum and Karizma.
She made her film debut in Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix thriller Jaane Jaan, in which she played the younger version of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character Maya. She later appeared in the 2025 comedy Jassi Weds Jassi.
