The UAE women’s cricket team delivered an impressive performance in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, defeating Indonesia by six wickets in their eighth match held in Dubai.
Chasing a target of 72 runs, the UAE achieved their goal in just 13.1 overs, losing four wickets in the process.
The UAE’s innings began on a shaky note, with Tirth Satish managing only 11 runs before being dismissed. However, captain Isha Oja and Rinitha Rajit steadied the ship, adding 45 runs for the second wicket off 36 balls. Rinitha scored 22 runs from 24 balls, hitting three boundaries.
Isha Oja contributed significantly with the bat, scoring 30 runs off 29 balls, including five fours. Samaira Dharanidharaka and Lavanya Kenny remained not out with scores of 8 and 3, respectively, guiding the team to victory. For Indonesia, Sofia Velik was the standout bowler, taking two wickets for 25 runs in her 3.1 overs. Ni Kadek Ariyani and Sang Mepriyani each claimed one wicket.
Earlier, the Indonesian batting lineup struggled against the UAE bowlers, folding for just 71 runs. The team had a disastrous start, with Maria Korajon dismissed without scoring. Rahmawati Pangestuti also failed to make an impact, contributing only 2 runs, while Ni Luh Devi was out without scoring.
Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini showed resilience, scoring 39 runs off 52 balls, including four fours and a six. Ni Kadek Fitriya Rada Rani managed just 3 runs, while Desi Wulandari added 10 runs. On the bowling front for the UAE, Suraksha Kotte excelled, taking three wickets for just 16 runs in her four overs. Isha Oja also impressed with the ball, claiming two wickets for 11 runs, while Heena Hotchandani and Vaishnavi Mahesh each took two wickets.
