India reached Super-6
The 16 teams playing in the Under-19 ODI World Cup 2026 have been divided into 4 groups. There are 4-4 teams in each group. India has qualified from its group for the next round of the Super Six tournament. Team India has become the first team not only in its group but in the entire tournament to do this. Meaning, it has made it to the Super Six first by defeating the remaining 15 teams.
How did India first make it to Super-6?
Team India has entered the Super Six first by winning the first two matches in the group stage. At present, this is not the case with the remaining 15 teams. Some of them have either not played a single match in their group or have played only 1 match or if like India they have played two, they have not won both. Whereas India won both the matches in Group B and secured 4 points. With this, its Super Six berth has been confirmed. Now, if they win the next two matches, they can end their group stage journey at the top.
What is the mathematics of Super-6?
Now the question is, what will be the mathematics of Super Six of Under 19 ODI World Cup 2026? Meaning, how the matches will be played in the Super Six, which will open the doors for the semi-finals. When the names of 3-3 teams from each group of the group stage are decided to go to the Super Six, then they will be divided into two groups of 6 teams each. In Super Six, all the teams will play matches against each other in their respective groups. The top two teams from both the groups of Super Six will get tickets for the semi-finals.
