Tweeting against CM cost Naseem Shah a lot, PCB took major action

Naseem Shah: A big controversy has emerged in the beginning of Pakistan Super League 2026. Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Naseem Shah has created a huge uproar over a social media post. Due to which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a notice to Naseem Shah. Naseem has violated his central contract and media policy. In such a situation, Naseem Shah’s problems seem to be increasing.

PCB’s action on Naseem Shah

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah due to his tweet on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. This incident happened before the first match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. In fact, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had announced to hold the tournament without fans due to fuel shortage. But some special guests were allowed in the match, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She reached Gaddafi Stadium and met the players of Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen there with heavy security arrangements.

Naseem Shah tweeted quoting an official post of PCB, in which he raised questions on the presence of Maryam Nawaz in the stadium. He wrote, why is she being treated like the Queen of Lords? However, the tweet was deleted after a few minutes. In such a situation, PCB has sent a show-cause notice to Naseem Shah. The board says that further action will be decided only after receiving the response from the player. Public criticism of the board, its officials or policies is prohibited under Section 2.23 of the PCB Code of Conduct.

Action was also taken against Aamir Jamal

Some time ago, all-rounder Aamir Jamal was fined lakhs of rupees for supporting Imran Khan. Whereas, Naseem Shah is playing for Rawalpindi Pindies team in PSL 2026 and his first match is to be against Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday. This matter has once again become a topic of discussion in Pakistani cricket regarding the social media activities of the players and the strict policies of the board.
