TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch its first-ever adventure motorcycle: the TVS RTX 300, in India on October 15, 2025. The bike was first showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, and it marks the brand’s official entry into the growing mid-capacity ADV segment.
While TVS has not revealed detailed specifications yet, the RTX 300 is expected to feature a new 299cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing around 35 hp and 28.5 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This setup positions it squarely against established names in the market, such as the Suzuki V-Strom SX, KTM 250 Adventure, and Kawasaki Versys-X 300. Let’s see how these models stack up against each other.
Suzuki V-Strom SX
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is currently the most affordable option in this segment, priced at Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine producing 26.5 hp at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm at 7,300 rpm. It features a 6-speed gearbox, 205 mm of ground clearance, and weighs 167 kg. The bike’s seat height is 835 mm, making it approachable for average-height riders. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear.
KTM 250 Adventure
Next up is the KTM 250 Adventure, priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). It uses a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 31 hp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The motorcycle offers serious off-road credentials with WP Apex 43 mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock, offering 200 mm and 205 mm of wheel travel, respectively. With a kerb weight of 176 kg and ground clearance of 228 mm, it’s one of the more capable ADVs in its class.
Kawasaki Versys-X 300
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is the most premium offering in this comparison, priced at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 296cc parallel-twin engine producing 40 hp at 11,500 rpm and 26 Nm at 10,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle features a telescopic front fork, Uni-Trak rear suspension, and a large 17-litre fuel tank. It weighs 179 kg and offers 180 mm of ground clearance.
When launched, the TVS RTX 300 is expected to undercut the Kawasaki while offering performance closer to the KTM, potentially making it one of the most balanced options in the 300cc ADV space.
