Television actor Aditi Sharma has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, accusing him and two of his family members of physical and mental harassment, assault, verbal abuse and misappropriation of her wedding jewellery.
Based on her complaint, the Goregaon Police in Mumbai registered a First Information Report (FIR) on July 31 against Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, his mother Urmila Kaushik and his sister Kirti Kaushik. An investigation is currently underway.
According to the FIR, Aditi alleged that she was subjected to domestic violence, physical assault, verbal abuse and repeated questioning of her character. She also accused the three of retaining her wedding jewellery, which she claimed had not been returned despite repeated requests.

In her statement to the police, Aditi said she met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021. Their friendship later developed into a relationship.
She alleged that the couple began living together in a rented apartment in Goregaon West in September 2024 before marrying on November 12, 2024, with the consent of both families.
According to the complaint, her husband’s behaviour changed within days of the wedding, leading to frequent arguments over her choice of clothes and other minor issues. She further alleged that instead of contributing to household expenses, he frequently asked her for money.
Aditi also referred to an incident on January 1, 2025, when an argument over coffee allegedly escalated into verbal abuse. She claimed that her husband later began accusing her of having an extramarital affair, repeatedly checked her mobile phone, started sleeping in a separate room and prevented her from speaking to her parents.
The actor further alleged that her mother-in-law retained her wedding jewellery, including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, a mangalsutra and bangles, and refused to return the items despite repeated requests.
She also claimed that during attempts to resolve the marital dispute, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law supported her husband and continued to harass her.
Police have launched an investigation into the allegations. So far, neither Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik nor any member of his family has issued a public response to the complaint.
