Turkey plans to buy ‘Dhwani’ hypersonic missile from India…, mightier than US’ THAAD, Israel’s Iron Don, it is capable of…

Turkey fought against India during Operation Sindoor in collusion with Pakistan. Now its historical enemy Greece is preparing to surround Turkey at home and for this it is seeking help from India.

Greece is contemplating to buy the hypersonic glide missile of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) which has not even been finally tested. Apart from this, the tried and tested BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is also in demand.

According to a Greek news website, Turkey has made a significant demand for the government, which is expected to be a major boost for the Indian defense industry. The article openly calls on the Greek government to not only acquire the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from India but also initiate the purchase of the upcoming hypersonic glide missile, known as the “Dhwani” hypersonic missile. According to Greek media, if the Greek military receives these two missiles from India, Turkey’s dominance in the Aegean Sea will be permanently eroded, and all its machinations will be thwarted. Turkey is increasingly striving to expand its naval influence in the Aegean Sea.

Why is the ‘Dhwani’ hypersonic missile special?

As designed by DRDO, Dhwani can reach speeds of Mach 5 to Mach 6, or 7,400 kilometers per hour. Its unpredictable velocity and ability to evade enemy targets make it undetectable by any existing air defense system. Whether it’s the US’ THAAD or Israel’s Iron Don, it’s difficult for them to detect it. Its final testing will put India in the same league as the United States, Russia, and China in hypersonic weapon technology.

Difficult for the enemy to detect the sound

The Dhwani, or hypersonic glide missile, uses a scramjet engine and features a two-stage launch system. This allows it to hover at low altitudes, evading enemy radar, and upon receiving a command, it can destroy land and sea targets with unprecedented accuracy in seconds.
