Sohum Shah, who shot to fame with the film, Tumbbad (2018), is now working on its sequel, which is titled Tumbbad 2 – Pralay Aayega. The upcoming film is going to be even bigger as Alia Bhatt and Nawazuddin Siddiqui join the horror flick to play dynamic roles. Amid the shoot, Sohum Shah shared a bunch of pictures of himself from the iconic place where he shot the prequel. The actor-producer revisited the iconic Tumbbad wada during the shoot and got nostalgic. He also penned a sweet caption on his latest Instagram post.
Sohum Shah Revisits Tumbbad Wada
took to his Instagram handle and shared pictures of himself sitting on the stairs of the wada where the original film was shot. He is seen sitting in front of the iconic front door. The actor has indeed taken fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane to part 1.
For the unversed, the wada in Tumbbad was the epicenter of the storyline, where several major events took place. It not only served as a significant setting for the plot but also carried historical importance.

Sohum Shah captioned the post as, “सालों बाद फिर उसी वाड़े की छाँव में हूँ, जहाँ से ये सारा खेल शुरू हुआ था। #Tumbbad2 #PralayAayega.”
About Tumbbad 2
is going to be made on a bigger scale. and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s casting generated considerable anticipation for the film. Tumbbad 2 is being made under Sohum Shah’s banner, Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with Pen Studios. Unlike the prequel, Tumbbad 2 will be directed by Adesh Prasad. Tumbbad 2 is slated to release in theatres on December 3, 2027.
Tumbbad was released in 2018 and did moderate business at the box office. Owing to its popularity, it was re-released in theatres back in 2024. The first part’s producer, Aanand L Rai, opened up about the film’s success post-re-release. He told Zoom, “In the last five years, a lot of people have seen this film on OTT. I saw a definite regret in them for not watching on the big screen. We somewhere knew that if we re-release it, there will be the hidden guilt in the audience for not watching it. They will come to theatres.”
The filmmaker also said that people loved the film after watching it on OTT. Eventually, Tumbbad developed a special place in the audiences’ hearts. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for its sequel, Tumbbad 2.
