Many people light any number of lamps near Tulsi as per their wish, but this should not be done at all. Due to this one does not get the full results of the puja. It is said in the scriptures that three or five lamps should be lit near Tulsi. The lamp should always be lit on odd number of days. If this is not possible, a four-sided lamp can also be lit near Tulsi.
